SUMMARY:Shibari Live Drawing
DESCRIPTION:Shibari Live Drawing differs from usual live drawing sessions in two major ways. For one\, the poses that can be reached with the help of ropes are very different from anything live drawing models could assume on their own\, e.g. suspensions.  \nOn the other hand\, those poses are short living\, which means that artists are not only met with unusual poses but also with less time to catch them.  \nIn two Shibari performances by different Shibari practitioners from the community\, the participants will meet different body types every time.  \nAll levels welcome\, all media welcome (photography is dependent on the performer’s individual wishes and only as long as it does not disturb the other participants).  \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:UPGOING: A Novice’s Guide to Partnered Suspension
DESCRIPTION:OR how to safely and confidently suspend your friends without making enemies \n\n\n\n\nDESIRED OUTCOME\n\n\n\nBy the end of this series\, you should understand the basics of how to: \n\n\n\n\ntie two all purpose uplines suitable for most suspensions\n\n\n\nattach those uplines to your harnesses\n\n\n\nevaluate ties that you already know for suspension readiness\n\n\n\nnegotiate collaborative feedback and headspace with your partner\n\n\n\nfigure out how to evaluate what you should practice next\n\n\n\n\nAUDIENCE\n\n\n\nAimed towards paired tying\, with switches very welcome. Our teaching style is highly collaborative\, and there will be some switching and self tying involved as part of the learning process.This workshop series is one complete part. Participants are required to attend all parts with each other. The cost of the ticket is per pair for the entire series!  \n\n\n\nPREREQUISITES\n\n\n\n\nAll attendees (people tying and being tied) can easily tie a non collapsing single column tie. \n\n\n\nPeople tying should be able to tie:\n\nA suspendable upper body harness with at least two attachment points (front\, back\, side)\n\n\n\nA suspendable lower body harness \n\n\n\nPeople in rope should be comfortable in said harnesses.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMATERIALS\n\n\n\n\n10-12 ropes (jute or hemp preferred*)\n\n\n\nAt least two reinforced or rated uplines\n\n\n\nSafety shears\n\n\n\n2+ carabiners or o rings\n\n\n\n\n*natural rope (jute or hemp) is preferred. This is not because we think natural rope is superior in any way! We’re actually learning to tie with MFP. DESCRIPTION:Let’s start the week creatively. During Studio Allegory’s Live drawing sessions\, Shibari artists from the local community offer rope performances for artists and enthusiasts to capture with their material of choice. \n\n\n\nDetails \n\n\n\n\nDate and Time: Every 4th Monday of the month\, 6.30pm\n\n\n\nDuration: ~2h\n\n\n\nFee: $35/person (members get a discount)\n\n\n\nPrerequisites: All levels and skills are welcome\n\n\n\nMaterial to bring: If you have\, bring your own drawing/painting materials\n\n\n\nFor individuals or pairs: Any constellation is welcome\n\n\n\n\nTickets(Also available as a drop in at the event) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease have a look at our policies and safety rules.Each participants needs a completed release of liability (“waiver”) \n\n\n\n\nAccessibility: \n\n\n\n\nStudio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. SUMMARY:Queer BIPOC Jam
DESCRIPTION:This series of events aims to create a safe and community-focused space for Black\, Indigenous and Persons of Color who love rope. \n\n\n\nThis edition of the BIPOC Jam will start with activities to get to know each other\, and then a Community Skillshare on Tying as Sculpturing the Body\, facilitated by soya @soyasabi. We will explore simplified ways to tie our body and/or other bodies & beings as if we are making living sculptures. Feel free to bring plants\, fabric\, and anything that you want to bond with. SUMMARY:Straight razor - a playful shaving experience
DESCRIPTION:Join us on an exploration of a very exciting type of kinky play: shaving your partner with a straight razor. The preparation\, the anticipation\, the play around sharp objects\, the touch\, the closeness\, and the result are all parts of this kinky exploration. Addie will cover the basics of a good\, playful\, and kinky shave. After a discussion of tools\, safety\, and methods\, they will demonstrate a session with their partner Liff. SUMMARY:All Levels Rope
DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday All Level runs on an 8-week rotation. At the start of each rotation we introduce a new harness structure. Over the subsequent 7 weeks we then approach that structure from multiple different directions and purposes\, both technical and interpersonal. How can we break down and alter the harness to make it work in certain ways? Can we tie it while moving/dancing/sitting/playfighting? How does it behave in suspension? How can we make it ornate\, or comfortable\, or robust? We also build skills and habits to keep the focus on the interaction between humans rather than the pattern. People approach rope from a myriad different directions\, motivations\, and interests\, so our classes should reflect that diversity of approach.  \n\n\n\nThe order of classes may change depending on the pace and needs of participants. See the curriculum of our rope track \n\n\n\n\nHarness Intro\n\n\n\nDeeper Dive/Different Versions/Magic Tips and Tricks\n\n\n\nTying with Movement/Ranboo\n\n\n\nPartial/Static Suspension (Upline Review)**\n\n\n\nInterview Metaphor\n\n\n\nSuspension with Transition Options (Upline Special Considerations)**\n\n\n\nFloorwork\n\n\n\nChallenges! \n\n\n\n\nAll Level classes are designed for partner work\, though you are welcome to attend solo and absorb information.  \n\n\n\nA brief note on suspension: \n\n\n\nYou don’t have to suspend in these classes! It’s pretty common that newer people choose not to suspend on their first ‘rotation’ through the All Levels class. Work at the pace that suits you\, make sure you feel comfortable with what you are doing\, and we will support you.Please note: Anyone who plans to suspend should attend the appropriate Uplines Friday class.
