SUMMARY:ethical non-monogamy & D/s - Navigating multiple power relationships
DESCRIPTION:The sum is more than its parts. When it comes to multiple simultaneous power relationships\, things can get overwhelming really quickly. Especially in intersecting communities of queer\, disabled\, and otherwise marginalized and policed bodies\, contexts like economic dependencies\, disabilities\, accessibilities\, and traumata are adding to the complexity. \nIn this class we look at possible pitfalls and tools to navigate aspects like consent\, jealousy\, symbols\, and playing.

SUMMARY:Emergent Play - when you can't plan your scene
DESCRIPTION:So much to think about when preparing for a scene. Find a date and a space where you are undisturbed (or very much disturbed)\, negotiate consent\, get all the toys and accessories ready\, and then\, well\, you are in the mood for something completely different. \nIn this workshop\, we are exploring how we can co-create emergent scenes\, that is\, where we don’t know beforehand what will happen or who will be doing what. From personal anecdotes\, fluid storytelling and a healthier handling of expectations to hands-on (or in) tips and tricks. \nClass contents: \n\nWhat are emergent scenes? Advantages and disadvantages\nHow to establish consent when you don’t know what might happen?\nThe pleasure of switching – or not.\nFluid storytelling\nEnding a scene that isn’t planned\nAftercare considerations\n\n

SUMMARY:Disabled Revolutionaries
DESCRIPTION:The role of disabled people in revolutionary struggle has been largely erased in the public memory. In truth\, disabled people have played an important role in theorizing\, planning\, and enacting revolution across the globe; many of the great figures of history that you are already familiar with lived with significant chronic health conditions that informed their thinking and methods alike. Come and join us to learn about these lost histories\, and the role that disabledness itself plays in shaping revolutionary consciousness and resolve. \nThere will be an open discussion and Q&A after the prepared portion\, in which we will discuss how to adjust our tactics to fit our particular needs\, limitations\, and material conditions. \nBelow is a link to an audio outlining some of the guiding framework for this talk (15 mins)\nhttps://on.soundcloud.com/y2Qz85kFF8T7tCNPg8 \nIn House AND Virtual Event! \nIf you buy the virtual event ticket\, you will get a zoom link per email 24h before the class starts. Everyone\, in house participants as well as virtual participants will get access to the recording for 14 days after the event. Timezone is Pacific Standard Time.

SUMMARY:Shibari Live Drawing
DESCRIPTION:Shibari Live Drawing differs from usual live drawing sessions in two major ways. For one\, the poses that can be reached with the help of ropes are very different from anything live drawing models could assume on their own\, e.g. suspensions.  \nOn the other hand\, those poses are short living\, which means that artists are not only met with unusual poses but also with less time to catch them.  \nIn two Shibari performances by different Shibari practitioners from the community\, the participants will meet different body types every time.  \nAll levels welcome\, all media welcome (photography is dependent on the performer’s individual wishes and only as long as it does not disturb the other participants).  \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Butts\, anyone?
DESCRIPTION:Butts are great! They come in all shapes and forms and the best thing is\, basically everyone has one which makes it one of the most straight forward gender neutral areas to play with. But that’s not everything – butts are great for all kinds of play and fuckery: Butts can be hit\, they can be caressed\, and you can stick things into them. \nThis is where this class takes off. Taught by a medical professional\, this workshop invites you on a journey of exploring the butt\, be it your own or that of another. We start with safety and hygiene considerations\, go over some theoretical medical facts about nerves and sphincters\, and then go into more in depth ways of having fun with that fantastic part of almost everyone’s body.

SUMMARY:An Evening of Artists & Perverts
DESCRIPTION:The documentary film The Artist and the Pervert offers a profound and unflinching look into the private world of Mollena Haas-Williams and Georg Haas. Moleena\, an African-American kink educator and activist\, and Georg\, a celebrated Austrian composer\, share a life defined by a complex Power Exchange (D/s) relationship that defies easy categorization. Their partnership serves as a living canvas where the intersections of personal desire\, historical trauma\, and artistic expression are vividly painted. \nAs we immerse ourselves in their unique dynamic\, we move beyond the surface of their domestic life to encounter the broader social structures that inform it. The narrative invites us to witness a delicate dance between control and surrender\, set against a backdrop of racial identity and cultural difference. It is a rare opportunity to see how two individuals navigate the nuances of radical honesty while maintaining a deeply creative and disciplined bond. \nFollowing our time spent within the atmosphere of their story\, we will transition into a live discussion with the creators of the documentary\, Beatrice and Renée\, moderated by Andrea Rimon. This conversation aims to peel back the layers of the production process and the ethical considerations of capturing such an intimate terrain. We will delve into the film’s core themes—including the complexities of D/s\, the impact of race on personal power\, and the evolution of kink as a tool for liberation—allowing for a deeper interrogation of the boundaries between the public and the private. \n  Trailer

SUMMARY:QuIRKS - Queer International Rope & Kink Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Studio Allegory’s first Queer International Rope & Kink Symposium. \nSOLD OUT\nOver the period of 3 days we will have 12 workshops and classes\, 3 play parties\, and plenty of time in between to connect with other queer\, curious kinksters in our beautiful and accessible studio*. \nJoin us solo or bring your whole polycule and friends circle to experience a weekend full of exploration of kinks\, sexualities\, intimacies\, and relationships. \nYou can expect a large variety of topics taught by international and local queer presenters whose approaches veer away the old tropes and clichés of a cis heteronormative world of kink and intimacy. \nFor all the info about the symposium\, from presenters and their classes to program\, useful resources and links\, to publications after the conference\, please have a look at the symposium’s resource hub: \nQuirks Info Post\n  \nPlease note: The symposium is happening during the whole weekend. The Intro session is mandatory for participants to ensure that everyone understands the house rules and the workings of the symposium. Any other session is voluntary. You don’t need to participate in everything. Our quiet room will be available during the symposium for people to retreat and the social area between the two workshop areas can be used\, too\, but the noise level needs to be reduced to a minimum to ensure the classes not getting disturbed.

SUMMARY:Intentional Pain Play
DESCRIPTION:Too often\, pain play gets flattened all the time. Into impact play. Into a set of roles and a handful of tools. Into repetitive patterns. But what if we started somewhere else entirely? \nIntentional Pain Play is a workshop that approaches sadomasochistic practice from the inside out: not what you do\, but what you’re doing it for. What intentions\, needs and desire drive you to give and/or receive pain? And how do you build the scene around that intention — independent of roles\, relationship structures\, or the body you’re in? \nTogether\, we’ll open up the conversation\, work with the intentions you bring into the room\, and lab out how to translate them into concrete practice. The session closes with time to actually play.

SUMMARY:Fuck Your Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Very often when people as whether it’s okay or advisable to play with trauma the answer is: don’t. Better not touch it. You will re-traumatize yourself. Wait until you’re “healed”. \nBut here’s the thing: Most of us are already doing it. Whether we are aware of it or not. \nFuck Your Trauma starts by acknowledging that trauma and kink are already in the room together. The question isn’t whether to engage with that but how to do it with more awareness\, more care\, and more curiosity. \nThis is not a workshop with answers. It’s a discussion that reframes the conversation entirely. Away from ideas of brokenness\, re-traumatization and kink as “healing\,” and toward a harm reduction approach that makes space for self-knowledge\, resourcefulness\, and genuine curiosity about what’s actually happening when we play. \nWe’ll look at this structurally\, not personally. No one will be asked to share their traumatic experiences. Instead\, we’ll explore frameworks and ideas for approaching this kind of play in an intentional way.
