The facilitator will go over some intro rope skills if anyone wants to go over that and will be there to answer any questions rope newbies have. Just a reminder this rope jam is for people of the global South\, People of Colour and Indigenous\, Brown and Black people\, we love our White allies but this space is not for you. We hope to see you there! Bring a friend! \nTickets are PWYC with a suggestion of $15. \nAll skill levels welcome! Bring rope if you have some but some loaners will be available. SUMMARY:Bare hands - Impact without toys
DESCRIPTION:We all are already equipped with some pretty amazing impact tools: Our bodies with all its softer and harder\, lighter and heavier parts. In this class we invite the participants to experiment with their own ‘factory-installed’ impact toys. Under the guidance of Addie\, who is mainly practicing impact play with their own body\, we will explore fundamental aspects like which body parts can be used for stingy and which for thuddy hits\, physical and emotional safety\, the use of body weight behind impact\, soft and hard surfaces\, as well as more creative ways to use our bodies for impact play. \nThis class is a great opportunity to try out these techniques. Solo participants are welcome\, and we encourage you to pair up with others or join an existing group. However\, please note that active practice for solo participants cannot be guaranteed.

DESCRIPTION:While a lot of thought and energy and practice and so on and so forth can be put into tying\, we are also all facing challenges in our everyday lives that are less and less bearable. Ropes can also be used to forget about all that shit out there\, all the fascism\, the economy\, the obliteration of human rights\, the climate\, and everything else that is bleak. It’s not a failure to just want to stop for just a moment.  \nIn this guided dissociation\, we will be building a palace in our minds and with our ropes. We will meander through gardens and participate in lustful banquets\, we will fly over landscapes and meet with creatures who we might want to engage with or just watch from a distance. \nIn this journey\, narrated and guided by Barkas\, participants are invited to turn their brains off for a couple hours\, take a rope and either on themselves or with someone else\, just escape into a fantastic world.  \nDisclaimer: We acknowledge that dissociation can amount to a condition that causes sever pressure and suffering for individuals. This experience is NOT a mockery or a belittling of the mental health conditions associated with dissociation. We ask participants to listen to their own needs and boundaries and provide mental health first aid as well as a quiet area to retreat.

DESCRIPTION:Many of us are familiar with the concept of consensual nonconsent (CNC): a scenario where the folks involved agree to play that may appear nonconsensual. This can look like anything from using a safeword so “no” doesn’t mean “stop\,” to roleplaying being made to do things you “don’t want\,” to scenes with enacted violence like forced entry or kidnapping. \nWith such a wide range of things that can fall under CNC\, individual approaches may vary wildly. In this class we will discuss how to negotiate for CNC and create the container for play. We will also cover what it can look like to push boundaries on purpose\, and how that can feel as either a top or a bottom\, as well as risk mitigation and managing self image as folks oriented towards this kind of play.

DESCRIPTION:Shibari Live Drawing differs from usual live drawing sessions in two major ways. For one\, the poses that can be reached with the help of ropes are very different from anything live drawing models could assume on their own\, e.g. suspensions.  \nOn the other hand\, those poses are short living\, which means that artists are not only met with unusual poses but also with less time to catch them.  \nIn two Shibari performances by different Shibari practitioners from the community\, the participants will meet different body types every time.  \nAll levels welcome\, all media welcome (photography is dependent on the performer’s individual wishes and only as long as it does not disturb the other participants).  \n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Physics is in all of our play\, whether we know it or not and whether we understand it or not. From the forces involved in rope suspensions\, to the difference of elastic and inelastic collision in impact play\, from the torque of a fucking machine\, to the thermodynamics of body fluids: why not use these principles to our advantage? Can we use them to enhance our experiences? Of course we can! \nIn this class we won’t solve equations (unless you are into it). But we will cover \n\nNewton’s laws (I\, II\, & III)\nArchimedes’ principle of leverage\nFriction and pressure\nA bit of fluid dynamics (Bernoulli)\nA bit of thermodynamics\n\nas applied to the most common kinky activities with a focus on rope bondage. \nThis class is hybrid\, that means\, we will have tickets for in-house participants as well as virtual participants. In this class we make sure that a) you do it with the necessary safety precautions and b) have fun with it. \nThere are definitely too many myths and semi-true infos about breath play out there and getting the education about it from a professional ultimately makes it better. \nWe will be bringing\, amongst other things\, dental floss\, gas masks and a chess set\, gloves (black latex and leather)\, one of those cheap plastic shower caps from a hotel bathroom…. straight jacket masks\, a cattle prod\, a stick of some kind\, and a mouth spreader. Also a clean handkerchief and maybe a pocket cpr mask.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop explores breath\, impulse\, voice and movement through a somatic algorithm called Touch Me Hold Me Let Me Go\, developed by Lee Su-Feh from years of research and practice as a choreographer and teacher of voice and movement.   \nTouch Me Hold Me Let Me Go helps you speak and move from a place of support and ease. It is a tool to practice making requests and stating boundaries from an embodied place. DESCRIPTION:Intro to Shibari is the first step for people interested in learning to tie with each other. \nThe emphasis of this course is to accompany the participants on their path into a joyful and safe practice of rope bondage\, Shibari/Kinbaku. We go through basic techniques\, knots & frictions\, safety and consent\, movement\, communication\, and artistic representation. Participants will be able to tie with each other in a joyful and interesting way. We understand each class as directed at both\, the person in ropes as well as the person tying. \nThis 5th Friday of the month we look at ropes that we can use for sexual encounters. We cover: \n\npractical\, simple\, and useful patterns\nefficient and smooth movement on the ground\nqueering sex. It doesn’t have to be P in V!\n\nThis class is for all constellations (solo\, pair\, trios\, etc). Individual participants can tie all patterns on themselves or pair up with others IF comfortable.

DESCRIPTION:Very often when people as whether it’s okay or advisable to play with trauma the answer is: don’t. Better not touch it. You will re-traumatize yourself. Wait until you’re “healed”. \nBut here’s the thing: Most of us are already doing it. Whether we are aware of it or not. \nFuck Your Trauma starts by acknowledging that trauma and kink are already in the room together. The question isn’t whether to engage with that but how to do it with more awareness\, more care\, and more curiosity. \nThis is not a workshop with answers. It’s a discussion that reframes the conversation entirely. Away from ideas of brokenness\, re-traumatization and kink as “healing\,” and toward a harm reduction approach that makes space for self-knowledge\, resourcefulness\, and genuine curiosity about what’s actually happening when we play. \nWe’ll look at this structurally\, not personally. No one will be asked to share their traumatic experiences. Instead\, we’ll explore frameworks and ideas for approaching this kind of play in an intentional way.
