SUMMARY:The first poke - Needle & Sharps 101
DESCRIPTION:The play with needles and sharps is super exciting and titillating but there are a few things to know before your first poke for pleasure. In this class MxAnnix will share some of the risks when playing with sharps and blood\, while also covering safer station setup\, basics of piercing\, wound care\, and cleanliness.  \n\n\n\nThey will also share more detailed medical risks\, procedures\, and information to help equip you with more safety measures and responses. After the discussion part of the class everyone will follow along with Annix to set up a safer sharps play station\, administer a needle to oneself or a classmate\, remove needle(s)\, provide wound care\, and station clean up. All materials will be provided\, though you are welcome to bring your own materials. Wear something comfortable\, bring water\, and be sure to eat about 30-60 minutes before class.  \n\n\n\nIf you have any questions or concerns before class you can contact Annix at mxannix@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:The event will begin with a circle and introduction with Annix to outline safety and procedural expectations within the space. Following intro’s\, Annix will demo their latest needle technique or obsession. This segment may be filmed and photographed with only Annix and their piercing partner in the footage. \nAfter the intro and demo you’re encouraged to play\, skill share\, and innovate new pathways in your practice. If you’d like to learn more about sharps safety\, blood borne pathogens\, and potential risks\, attend one of our regular classes taught by Annix. \nNeedles\, scalpels\, hooks (not set up for suspension yet)\, knives\, staples\, and other fun sharps welcome. \nGood things to know:\n\nBring your own sharps and materials.\nClean up your own messes.\nSharps bins\, garbage bags\, a few massage tables\, and drop sheets will be provided.\nPlay within your means and know the risks before you play.\nIf you plan to do something more risky or have inquiries about the event\, email mxannix@gmail.com to discuss.
