DESCRIPTION:Intro to Rope Bondage is the first step for people interested in learning to tie with each other. \nThe emphasis of this course is to accompany the participants on their path into a joyful and safe practice of rope bondage\, Shibari/Kinbaku. We go through basic techniques\, knots & frictions\, safety and consent\, movement\, communication\, and artistic representation. Participants will be able to tie with each other in a joyful and interesting way. We understand each class as directed at both\, the person in ropes as well as the person tying. \nContents\n\n1st Friday per month: Single & Double column ties. The basic knots\n2nd Friday per month: Frictions and Hitches. How to keep the ropes in place\n3rd Friday per month: Upper body ties with multiple ropes – “Takate Kote”\n4th Friday per month: Lower body ties – Hip harnesses\n5th Friday per month: Wild card\n\nAll classes contain various aspects of safety and consent for shibari and other play. \nThis class is a great opportunity to try out these techniques. Solo participants are welcome\, and we encourage you to pair up with others or join an existing group. However\, please note that active practice for solo participants cannot be guaranteed. \nParticipants of the intro to rope series have free access to the open jam directly after the class.

SUMMARY:The care they deserve: rope making and maintenance gathering
DESCRIPTION:Our ropes are doing a lot. They hold tight\, get bent in all directions\, get tied in knots and frictions. They are exposed to sweat and tears and other things while making sure that nobody drops. So\, let’s give them the bit of love and care they deserve. \nThe evening is there for people to sit together and chat about what our ropes have already seen. Let’s give them the warmth of a flame and the coolness of jojoba oil. Let’s get the uneven tensions of individual fibres back in place and even out the ends. \nWith tips and tricks from our rope maintenance expert Daremo and materials needed to care for our tools\, we will spend the evening together to give our ropes the love they deserve and extend their lifespan. \nAnd for the crafty folks: We will be making some ropes. Bring jute twine if you would like to have your own rope.

In the eyes of society\, kink is already controversial but there are also controversies within the kink scene. From practicing to accepting\, from tolerating to shaming\, different practices as well as different approaches to practices have always and will always lead to controversies within the field of practitioners. \nIn this Discussion\, we are picking up some of these controversies and\, without trying to settle them\, we are holding space for an open debate about differing views.

There will be motors\, hand cranks\, rods\, connectors\, joints\, sliders\, and tools for us all to make a functional machine together. And the best part: after making it\, we need to see if it actually works.* Team work makes the dream work! \nYou don’t need to have any tools or skills\, just curiosity.
