SUMMARY:Shibari - Beyond the Basics
DESCRIPTION:You’ve taken the Intro classes\, you know your single column from your double\, and you’re ready for more — but jumping straight into “Ropes: All Levels” can feel like a big leap.\nThis class is designed to meet you right in the middle. \nIn this session\, we slow things down and build the skills to help you become confident\, capable rope players. You’ll refine your techniques\, explore simple patterns with more intention\, and start working with connection\, communication. We offer a mix of hands-on guidance\, practical exercises\, and space to ask the questions that don’t quite fit into an intro class. \nPerfect for anyone who wants to solidify their fundamentals\, deepen their understanding\, and feel ready to step into our full range of rope offerings. \nCome build confidence\, control\, and creativity — one knot at a time.

SUMMARY:Differential Geometry for P*rverts
DESCRIPTION:Kink\, and within it rope bondage\, is often seen through one particular lens\, that of eroticism\, but what if we are looking for similarities in completely different fields?Higher mathematics doesn’t seem to have anything in common with rope bondage but only a quick look offers a vast variety of tools that can be embedded in the context of rope bondage. After all\, tying rope onto someone is nothing but applied differential geometry. \n\n\n\nWe will look at triangles and their behaviour when we leave a flat plane. We are using the Pythagorean theorem for measuring distances on Euclidean surfaces and see how Gauss\, Riemann\, and Einstein made it possible to do that on curved surfaces.A bit of general relativity with its geodesics and relativistic mechanics can help us understand some of the intricacies of rope bondage. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is first and foremost for people who wonder\, who are curious and not only for those with a strong interest in mathematics\, physics\, and engineering. The contexts we will use will enable participants to understand ropes better and help them with trouble shooting \n\n\n\nDetails
 \n\n\n\n\nPrerequisites: Curiosity
\n\n\n\nMaterial to bring:
Note-taking material\n\n\n\nFor individuals or pairs:
Any Constellation welcome\n\n\n\nWho is this for:
Queer and friends\n\n\n\n\nPlease have a look at our policies and safety rules. Each participants needs a completed release of liability (“waiver”) \n\n\n\nTicketsAvailable at the door or here: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFineprint \n\n\n\n\nAccessibility:Studio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap\, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker\, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys\, colouring books\, blankets\, noise cancelling earmuffs\, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.\n\n\n\nCancellation and refund policy:If Studio Allegory has to cancel an event\, we will either refund ticket holders or transfer tickets to similar events in the future\, depending on the wishes of the ticket holder.\n\n\n\n\nCancellation by participants: Cancellation before 48h prior to the start of the event entitles the ticket holder to a full refund. Between 48h and the start of the workshop\, we can provide a partial refund (50% minus payment processing fees.) or transfer of the ticket to a similar event in the future. No refund or transfer can be offered for no-shows or cancellation after the event has started.

SUMMARY:"It's not the TK's fault" - Hybrid TK lab series in collaboration w Karada House
DESCRIPTION:The Takate Kote\, short just TK\, and its variations is one of the most tied structured patterns in the rope world. No matter if hands in the front or in the back\, if you tie a stemless TK or one with a stem\, whether you have Kannukis or not\, the TK is for sure a tie that has led to countless arguments amongst those who tie it regularly as well as against those who refuse to tie it for this or that reason. \n\n\n\nA standout quality of the TK is the fact that it is comprised of basically all fundamental techniques used in Shibari. Learning the TK isn’t limited to just learning a pattern but rather it allows to comprehend most of what is needed to tie with each other\, from proper tensions and placements\, all kinds of frictions and hitches\, as well as basic anatomy and rope handling. \n\n\n\nWe will not only demystify the Takate Kote but we will also look into the intricacies of it. We will work on it from the ground up and participants will get a picture as complete as possible about the advantages and disadvantages of various TK’s. What is it for\, when can we use which and what are the compatibilities and incompatibilities between different variations of the TK. \n\n\n\nPART 1 (JULY 27TH\, 2025\, 10am – 1PM PST)– Myths and monsters – why it’s not the TK’s fault if it’s boring or unsafe.– Principles of the TK – actually grounded in physics and not in tradition.– Complete structure of a TK \n\n\n\nPART 2 (AUGUST 3RD\, 2025\, 10am – 1PM PST)– Variations with hands low or high– Variations of the so-called “3rd rope”– Attachment points for suspensions and variations to support more up-line points. \n\n\n\nNote:This hybrid class can be visited via zoom AND in person. The in-person class is located at Studio Allegory in Vancouver\, Canada. The class will be recorded and in-person participants will be shown how to avoid being in the recording if they choose to not be in the recording. All participants (online and in-person) will get access to the recording of the class for 30 days after the end of the class. Please be aware that an online ticket is not valid for an in-person participation. The online part is hosted by Karada House\, the in-person part is hosted by Studio Allegory. \n\n\n\nDETAILS\n\n\n\n\nDate and Time: July 27th & August 3rd 2025\, 10am – 1pm PST (Pacific Standard Time)DOORS OPEN at 9.30 and CLOSE at 10am. SUMMARY:Desire vs fantasy - a world beyond
DESCRIPTION:As part of our kinky Thursday classes\, we will try to explore the world of fantasies\, desires\, and dreams. We often use these words in our conversations about kink\, intimacy\, and sexuality but we rarely think about them in an in-depth way. At the heart of this exploration is the question\, which fantasies and desires should or could be realized and which ones shouldn’t or can’t and why. \n\n\n\nIf we don’t talk about what is possible and what isn’t\, we run into the problem;em of merely repeating the same old stuff that everyone is doing without a chance of experiencing something else. \n\n\n\nParticipants are invited to use the safe(r) environment of Studio Allegory and talk openly about these things and maybe even try out some of the things that come up. Of course\, there is no guarantee that this class will provide the background before which you can fulfill your fantasy and it isn’t meant to. But this class is designed to create an open climate to express them\, maybe even for the first time. Whenever the question “Am I the only one?” comes up in kink\, the answer is automatically “No!” \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT PROVIDE SPACE FOR TYPES OF PLAY THAT ARE EXCLUDED IN THE RULES OF STUDIO ALLEGORY OR THAT ARE PROHIBITED BY LAW! But we can certainly talk about them. \n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\nFor individuals or pairs: Ideally with a partner but solo participation is possible\n\n\n\n\n\nDate and Time: June 12th\, 6.30pm – 9pm\n\n\n\n\n\nDuration: 2.5h\n\n\n\n\n\nFormat: Lecture/discussion with play time afterwards\n\n\n\n\n\nFee: $35/person (members get a discount)\n\n\n\n\n\nPrerequisites: None\n\n\n\n\n\nMaterial to bring: Note taking material and whatever toys you would like to experiment with.\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFineprint\n\n\n\nPlease have a look at our policies and safety rules.
