Welcome to
Studio Allegory is a space for people to explore new and different ways of kink, intimacy, and sexuality. As an open center for research in this context, we are creating and holding a space for community, education, research, as well as a small, carefully curated shop section.

Intimacy Research
Our education and research are centered around movement, nonverbal communication, Shibari (rope bondage), and other forms of kink and critical sexuality and intimacy.

Shop
Our selection of products and books are handpicked and prioritize their quality, usefulness, as well as their production ethics and environmental impact.
Accessible Kink
By uncovering the benefits of a diverse and open sexuality to a vast range of approaches makes it accessible also to those who are commonly barred from experiencing kink, intimacy, and sexuality because of their sex, gender, race, physical, and mental abilities. As a consequence of our work of queering kink, intimacy, and sexuality, as well as our focus on queer and marginalized people, we thus understand Studio Allegory itself as a queer space. We welcome especially queer people and friends.

Community
We understand Studio Allegory first and foremost as a community hub. This means that we prioritize accessibility, inclusivity and reciprocal support amongst our patrons, volunteers, researchers, artists, and the local community at large.
A community in our view is a group of people who not only share an interest in a certain practice or have a larger intersection of beliefs and ethics, but a community also demonstrates a shared responsibility amongst its members and for its environment. Studio Allegory is constantly working on creating and facilitating a community in this sense. Amongst other activities, we organize regular educational as well as communal events that foster a community whose members can recognize each other’s needs and help each other out.

Politics
We believe that deviant sexuality is in and of itself nothing revolutionary if it simply perpetuates and reproduces the status quo of a white cis heteropatriarchy.
Studio Allegory, and its research and educational programs is seeking to abolish hegemonic and normalitarian approaches to kink, intimacy, and sexuality. To abolish them does not mean one should not engage in certain ‘normal’ encounters. We don’t want to take away anyone’s cliché hetero sex. But we want to get rid of the deeply rooted belief that this is the best or even the so-called normal way of encountering each other intimately.
