Intro to Rope

Intro to Rope Bondage is the first step for people interested in learning to tie with each other.

The emphasis of this course is to accompany the participants on their path into a joyful and safe practice of rope bondage, Shibari/Kinbaku. We go through basic techniques, knots & frictions, safety and consent, movement, communication, and artistic representation. Participants will be able to tie with each other in a joyful and interesting way. We understand each class as directed at both, the person in ropes as well as the person tying.

Curriculum

• 1st Friday per month: Single & Double column ties. The basic knots
• 2nd Friday per month: Safety, consent, and pre-scene negotiation
• 3rd Friday per month: Frictions and Hitches. How to keep the ropes in place
• 4th Friday per month: Fundamental upper body tie – “Takate Kote”
• 5th Friday per month: Wild card

Participants of the intro to rope series have free access to the open jam directly after the class.
