Did you know 8 out of 10 folks with vulvas do not know all the names of their anatomy or what part does what? April 21st marks the National Vula Awareness Day and Women’s sexual health is very important, yet there’s still a huge lack of understanding and shame surrounding the vulva and understanding about what is ‘normal’, and when vulva bodied beings should seek medical attention, can lead to unintended yet harmful consequences – not least the delayed diagnosis of gynaecological conditions, including cancers. Studio Allegory is proud to host an afternoon rope hangout to raise awareness where each participant will be supplied materials to get crafty and create a felted vulva that can be worn like a codpiece over clothes. They then have the option to go tie, be tied, get up-lined or just strut about the studio dawning your own vivacious vulvas in support of breaking stigma. Supplies will be provided and we encourage you to feel inspired and bring beads, trims and shiny gems to vajazzle your coochie codpiece creation.
Date: Sunday
Time: 3pm – 6pm
Drop in fee: Sliding scale of $10-$25 to cover cost of supplies. Pay at the door.
Every participant must have a signed release of liability (“waiver”)
