About This Event
Very often when people as whether it’s okay or advisable to play with trauma the answer is: don’t. Better not touch it. You will re-traumatize yourself. Wait until you’re “healed”.
But here’s the thing: Most of us are already doing it. Whether we are aware of it or not.
Fuck Your Trauma starts by acknowledging that trauma and kink are already in the room together. The question isn’t whether to engage with that but how to do it with more awareness, more care, and more curiosity.
This is not a workshop with answers. It’s a discussion that reframes the conversation entirely. Away from ideas of brokenness, re-traumatization and kink as “healing,” and toward a harm reduction approach that makes space for self-knowledge, resourcefulness, and genuine curiosity about what’s actually happening when we play.
We’ll look at this structurally, not personally. No one will be asked to share their traumatic experiences. Instead, we’ll explore frameworks and ideas for approaching this kind of play in an intentional way.
Facilitator
Sophia Rose
Sophia is a London-based BDSM professional and educator, holding inviting spaces for exploring desire and self-discovery through rope and kink. She blends offering practical hands-on skills with a thoughtful understanding of power dynamics and communication, helping others explore with curiosity and playfulness. Practising rope since 2013, her approach is shaped by diverse professional and personal experiences, to demystify kink in an accessible and engaging way.
Facilitator
Mamana
Mamana (they/them) is an licensed therapist, former film scholar and occasional artist who is interested in exploring the ever present unruliness of the body & the psyche and their potential as places of (neuro-)divergence and de(con)struction of what is supposed to be “normal”.
They like to curate spaces (such as Karada House) and offerings that allow for poking and irritating, researching and playing with one’s own body and psyche as well as those of other willing people and entities in a trauma-aware (and occasionally traumatophilic) way.
