Disclaimer hybrid class: This class will be in person as well as virtual. No participant who is attending in person will be recorded without their explicit consent.
This class covers first aid fundamentals for the most common situations kinksters might encounter, as well as worst-case scenarios.
We will also discuss specific information and considerations for professionals doing paid session work with clients.
What we will cover
- legalities
- basic anatomy (circulation, oxygen, sugar, nerves, etc) and conditions that can affect these (bleeding/clotting disorders, asthma, diabetes, etc)
- fluid safety (brief discussion of blood and body fluid stuff)
- planning, prevention, preparation!
- common minor injuries (aftercare for scrapes, bumps, sprains, bruises, and infection prevention)
- more serious injuries/conditions (fainting/falling injuries, head and neck injuries, life threats)
- when to involve emergency services, and how to handle that conversation
- medical questions worth asking of clients/people not well known to you
- whatever else comes up
This will be a hybrid class: live and in-house at Studio Allegory, Vancouver and virtual via Karada House.

Studio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys, colouring books, blankets, noise cancelling earmuffs, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.

If Studio Allegory cancels an event, ticket holders may choose between a full refund* or a ticket transfer to a similar future event.

– More than 48 hours before the event: Ticket holders are entitled to a full refund*.
– Between 48 hours and the start of the event: We offer a 50% refund** or a ticket transfer to a similar future event.
